Dealer Fixed My Fader Issue
I still have a few thousand miles left on my warranty and decided to finally take it in for this and a couple other issues.
Here is a shot of the service paperwork for the stereo:
It was explained to me that there is an SVM that must be performed after the update. I haven't seen that before. It also says to refer to TSB 2030465.
Anybody know which SVM they referred to or how to perform it?

Wifi Client mode introduced on new Q7
It seems that Audi have finally solved the iPhone Data issue. In the new Q7 - which I have had for 4 days now – there is the option to run the wifi in client mode, i.e. it can now connect to your personal hotspot created by the iPhone to connect to the internet.
In the meantime you can use your phone via Bluetooth.
The added advantage is that you can connect to wired wifi hotspots also, which makes online map and system updates both quicker and cheaper.

I just watched a YouTube video where a guy updated the MMI himself in the USA. He bought an update DVD from ECSTuning and walked through the process. Once he figured out the "press Car and Back buttons simultaneously to enter the update mode" trick, it appeared to go smoothly. Of course, the risk is, if something does go wrong and you cook your MMI, you're hosed by doing it yourself and not going to the dealership. Just wanted to share the info, FWIW.

My understanding is you can update the MMI yourself (at risk) in the US, but the dealerust update the maps.
