Default New Transmission for A7

I bought a used 2014 A7 with 40K six months ago. One owner out of Phoenix AZ. Car had the gearbox malfunction come on, so I took it to the local dealership. Come to find out that the factory sealed unit was low on fluid and took out reverse. It is under warranty and waiting on transmission to arrive. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this and how was the outcome.

I heard from the dealership yesterday and they stated the new transmission had arrived, but it was damaged. So I now will be making two car payments on a vehicle that is just siting around with a bad transmission. Sounds odd to me!

I would hate being as patient as you have to be but sounds like they want to take care of you. Shipping problems happen. Bad seals happen. You should end up with a great car though. GL.

Hey man, thanks for the positive words! I really need them. My first Audi purchase and was totally happy at the beginning but have been suspect of the purchase of late. I took it to the dealer and paid for some normal service and have been sticker shocked. I guess it cost to be cool and this car is cool!

Did they give you a free loaner at least?

They did I got an A4 with 7k miles on it. It has the B&O sound system, wish I had that option. The other options I would hardly use. I have the Prestigue with 20" black leather and the heated and cooled seats are great.

You could always buy Audi Care Select for your next two services. If one of them is a "major" service you will save a fair bit of money.

19th hole, that was my thinking, but thanks for confirmation. What do you think about an extended warranty. Especially now that a major component is brand new with a yr. warranty? I think I was going to pass and just save that money.
