Default Next-gen A7 to lose its distinctive rear end

"Buyers reportedly had a problem with the car's unique rear end". Which buyers? That's the most dramatic part of the design! Oh well, at least I got mine.

If this is true, I'll be extremely disappointed if Audi can't improve on the current design. I think the A7 is one of the most distinctive looking cars out there, sedan or coupe, and the way the strong shoulder lines lead the eyes to equally well defined real lines is a big part of that.

I love the distinctive rear end! I dunno why Audi would take the gamble and go the "safe" route with the new A7. I am glad I bought the 2016 A7 w/ sports package.

Other than the R8, this is the only other defining vehicle of the Audi brand. When an A7 drives by it is unmistakable.

They better have a brilliant alternative if they plan on this dramatic of a change to one of their signature vehicles.

Although judging by the next gen R8, I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Hmmm... Just today I got yet another "that's a great looking car" comment from some passerby in a parking lot. And I frequently notice people either taking a longer look when I'm driving by or when they're walking past while it's parked. 😎

Audi has got their work cut out for them if they want to improve on the 1st gen's styling. Maybe they figured they can't so will just go mainstream?

Although I love the overall look of the A7, the rear end is one area that could certainly be improved. I am eagerly anticipating the next generation - possibly with a bit more junk-in-the-trunk - the current model certainly is not all about that bass.

I payed almost 10 grand more for my A7 vs A6 because of the way it looks. I am 72 and I have owned a lot of automobiles and this is the first one to get the looks that this car receives. It not only looks good it is fun to drive, but then I am a geezer and what do I know.

Having had a 2012 A7 and now a 2014 A7TDI,,,that just would be JUST PLAIN STUPID. The *** makes this car unique and different from any Mercedes (had 3) BMW (had 1) and any car in its class period.

The car that needs a drastic rear end overhaul is the Porsche Panamera. The A7 has the most beautiful curves on the road today. I'm glad that I got my A7 when I did as I get complements on it's look every place I go.
