Default Siri

Hey guys,

Is there anyway to activate Siri on the iPhone by pressing the "voice button" on my steering wheel? (2012 A7)

Would updating the MMI make it possible?

I'm getting my car serviced at the dealership so they lent me a 2016 A6 and when I long press the "voice button' on the A6 it will active Siri. I know it's stupid but being able to say "Play the Grateful Dead" or "Call for Pizza" without fumbling for my phone is really nice.

Thanks!

Clo

No, Siri cannot be activated from any MMI control and there is no MMI update for pre-facelift model years. It's also doubtful Audi will offer that upgrade in the future as it would likely require additional hardware as well as software. If your iPhone is connected via AMI cable, you can use the MMI Voice Command button to select songs, artists, etc. Just about as effective as Siri for that purpose. There are also dozens of other commands that Voice Command can do once you learn them.
