Very nice! Great pics. Is the new exhaust bigger diameter tubing that stock? Hence why spacers needed?

I noticed you had switched out the rear valance in preparation of the dual tips. he he he. ; )
Overall, awesome mod. Congrats. Looks very nice along with a good sound.

The AWE is 2.5 inches and much heavier/thicker than the stock 2.25 inch OEM exhaust. There wasn't much clearance at the tunnel brace so the spacers were used there. There was more clearance at the rear track bars so I skipped the spacers. I can install them later using ramps if the rubber hangers stretch and the tubing start hitting.

That was time consuming but not too hard. Reduced the amount of billable hours owed to the shop.

I've install my own exhaust systems in a couple of other cars but I was happy to pay a mechanic to do this one. The guy I took it to specializes in Corvettes and worked for a muffler shop for ten years before opening his own repair shop. It took him a long time to get the tips horizontal and symmetrical to his satisfaction. If I ever take the tips off, I'll be marking the pipes so I can put them back in the exact same spot.

Thanks! It's surprisingly quiet at idle and has a nice rumble when on the gas. No big surprises installing it and it will easily outlive the car.

The AWE touring exhaust has no drone on the highway. The engine is turning 1900 RPM in 8th gear at 80. It does rumble a bit under acceleration and heading up hills but not anything obnoxious. For me, it's the correct and appropriate sounding exhaust for a sport luxury sedan. It may sound louder to the cars following me, I didn't hear much with the windows closed.

Summer is over and the leaves are changing color. Time to mount the DWS06 all season tires. The right side wheels had damage inflicted by the previous owner so I got some wheel protection molding to hide the damage and dress the wheels up a bit. I also changed to black hub caps.

Winter is coming in western NY and we had our first snow. I got some eBay tips to replace the AWE tips until spring rolls around.

New tips - suprising heavy considering the $100 shipped price tag

Very nice. I've been on fence for a while about trying out these type of exhaust tips. Thanks for posting. Great to see the difference between the two.

The ovals make the car look very elegant and not overdone. The 4" (being what I also have) really scream aggressiveness. They both look great!

Next step is to do some bench testing then figure out where to mount the components.

WOW!... I have been scouring the internet looking for a live-view capable system that has the emergency alarm feature.

Thanks for sharing. This is one of the better turnkey solutions I've seen thus far.

I looked it up and was very interested in 4 channel system but ... cameras seem too big for side views. Not to mention the 4 channel cost at $1,040 vs 2-channel at $395. Hard for me to justify the live view feed and larger eyesore cameras and mounting challenges for additional cost of $700 above my custom system with mini cameras, but still awesome system with awesome features beyond mine!

Maybe if I get a x-mas bonus this year I'll splurge and try for the 4 channel system. I really do like what this system can do!

Thanks for the lead.

Check eBay - I got the 2 channel for $310 shipped. I could have paid slightly less but it was a US seller with a quicker ETA. I also got a Power Magic Pro which allows camera function when parked without draining the battery.
