Default Things to look out for in used Audi A7?

I'm considering buying a used 2012-2013 Audi A7. Is there anything that I should look out for? Are there any known issues?

There have been some seemingly common issues in the 2012 models: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a7-...ading-2877073/

I would search for a 2013 CPO which will give you some more time to discover some issues, if any, that can be repaired under warranty before it expires.

Very helpful. It seems like CPO is the way to go with these cars.

CPO absolutely. It will give you another 2 yrs or 100k miles after the factory warranty. Keep in mind there is an $85 deductible once you enter the CPO warranty but that's much better than paying full price for something gone wrong on these cars.

Also, if you can, find one in which the original owner purchased AudiCare as that transfers to the new owner (I.e. you).

More importantly, buy an Audi that has factory warranty left for at least 3000 miles and 6 months. I have purchased many used Audi's and having some original warranty left is a god send. It takes most risk out.

Look at the carfax carefully. Read between the lines. Stay away from auction cars, especially if an Audi dealer auctioned it off. One owner cars are best. Look for normal cars: Guy bought it, serviced it at an audi dealer at 5, 15, 25, 35k, drove it 10k or so miles and year and sold it in two years. NORMAL and boring. Multi owner cars, long gaps between registrations, can indicate issues.

I agree with Glacier6 that 2013 is better than 12. The first MY for Audi's always have more issues.

I would not really factor Audi care into the deal. Nice to have but NO WHERE near as important as CPO or still lots of factory warranty. Audi care does not really transfer - it is attached to and the car - like the factory warranty. Many used car dealers have no idea if the car has Audi care. All Audi care does is prepay the service through 45k. Basically oil changes. Does not cover wiper blades and wear parts (brakes) and the filters/plugs are all after 45k. Say the car you buy has 28k, then you get routine service at 35 and 45k.

Lastly, i have seen used A7 prices all over the board. I have seen 2012s for 38000 to 50,000. Here in Denver, the advertised Audi dealer used car prices are stupid high.

I am not actively selling mine but it is for sale because I don't use it that often

Check it out, and by the way I am the one who started the do not let your warranty expires thread so trust me everything has been or will be take care before my warranty expires
Regards

OT. What do you expect living in the mile high city? move closer to sea level and prices are lower.

I also bought my 12 A7 CPO, haven't really had too many problems with it, look for a decent price... wife is about to have a baby so Im not sure how I feel about the car seat we just put in....

Where area are you in? What are you looking for?

I think a 12/ 13 is a good choice for the car and will save you some $$, I wish I had waited (Honestly wish I had bought a Q7)
