Default Trailer hitch?

I have seen audi factory pics on the net of A7's with some kind of factory trailer hitches installed. I called my local dealer and they said not available for anything other than Q7. I'm in the USA. does anyone know whether there are factory trailer receivers for the A7 and if not, what would be the best reccomended aftermarket receiver? I only need it to mount a bike rack.

I'm in the same boat. I can fit the MTB in the back hatch, but would prefer to run a OneUp rack with 1+1 format. I've been apprehensive so far to adding the hitch without seeing one first.

Both units are the same (made by Curt), U-Haul wants more for it, but you can look at the Installation Guide on their site.

You can get a Westfalia hitch for the A7 from Eurohitches.com, which I believe is the OEM hitch for the car sold in Europe. I got one and had it installed in my 2014 S7 but have not been able to get the wiring for the trailer lights to work. I just posted this plea for help on the S7 forum:

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/s7-...iring-2872279/

If anyone knows an Audi specialist shop in the NYC area who can configure the car's computer to recognize the trailer and get the lights to work, please post. The installation of this hitch has been wonderful on the mechanical side but a nightmare on the electronics side.

Here is the very detailed electrical installation manual, including the required coding:

Westfalia has a USA office, get in touch with them for technical support.

Thanks, great info. Earlier today I brought the car to the Audi dealer, and to my surprise, they said they were willing to get the trailer wiring to work. The service manager was not surprised that a non-dealer technician was unsuccessful, since getting the coding right might require access to Audi's online system. They wanted to keep the car over the weekend, so I will post the results next week.

I just posted an update to my trailer hitch wiring problem to the S7 forum:

Not a perfect solution, but I can live with it. I am not sure if the problems I ran into with my S7 would also be present with an A7, but the dealer should be able to tell you.

Take a look at this. It appears they offer tech support for trailer hitch coding issues.
