Went into the Dealer for a 92 cent O Ring, Just Came Out with a New A7
Hello Fellow A7 owners.
My first time in this A7 forum, and now as a new A7 owner. Have been in the AW forum for years with S4, allroad, C6.5 A6 avant. Audi's since 1990.
Interesting story (although the wife did not think so):
The infamous coolant temp sensor o ring on 2003 2.7t allroad was leaking. Only 92 cents at the dealer. Made a detour to the show room. Had been lusting after the A7, especially since no more A6 Avants.
Long story short: dealer really wanted to get rid of its last 2014 A7 former service loaner. Was only drive, so they say, by A7, S7 or A8 owners. Only 6 months old. Premium plus, little over 6k miles, glacier white, beige with dark brown carpet, 19" sports, Bose, side assist, CPO, full tint and bra. Not a mark on it.
Dealer said make any offer (as it was hailing outside). I made a low ball offer. They came back $1000 higher and threw in Audi care. I was shocked. I bought it.
I guess what they say is true: end of month, end of day, torrential rain and hail, end of model year.
Now i need to start reading up on this forum.
Only driven about 40 miles so far. Love the sport suspension. This is Colorado - 19" wheels are perfect. Already love the 3.0T from the Avant.
The MMI and car is twice as complicated as our 2011 A6 avant - and our 2003 allroad looks primitive in comparison.
When I parked at the college where I teach part time, got my first car comment and stares in decades from some undergrads: Nice Audi!

Compliments
Better get used to all the compliments. I've had my A7 for just over 2 years, and at least once a week I get compliment or a "thumbs up" from other drivers. Congrats!

I have never thought of buying a service loaner before. When they showed how it was treated and how it was readied for sale, I was surprised. Washed and vacuumed after each use. You had to have a A7/S7 or A8 in for service to use it. They even showed me all the CPO associated paperwork: had the best Chip guy in town do touch up, some work with a wheel touch up guy and then sent it out to great detailer. And then the CPO inspection/repairs. It was truly like new. I looked at real, one owner, year old used cars and there was no comparison.
