Why doesn't this A7 have numbers on the touch pad?
Both of these images are from 2014 A7 TDIs Prestige. Why does one have numbers and the other doesn't? Was there a change in early models sold, or is it different based on stereo (the speakers in the background appear both to be Bose), or something else?
I'm planning to buy the one with no numbers so this difference caught my eye and made me concerned. The car, however, is still under warranty and has had no warranty claims, so I doubt it was replaced with non-oem for some reason which might have been my thought in a similar situation with a different part.
Wow. *goes and hangs head in shame* Great first post of mine on this (A7) forum ;-) I had no idea those were illuminated numbers. I probably have a lot more to learn about this vehicle.

And the touchpad will not always show numbers. When the MMI is accepting handwriting input it will change to show brackets to "finger write" a letter or number

Agreed...the numbers on touch pad only shows up when you are in "Radio"...they represents preset stations.
