Dont worry i had enough testing time before winter, car's braking reaction is perfect; no nose dive, no wheel lock for no reason. Perfectly stable...have to admit it was NOT the case before i switch the rear to S8. That set up made it nose dive like crazy!!!

Now; just fun straight and stable. Have to watch my back when hard breaking in traffic.

Good to know!

Just mentioned as its a thing that shouldn't be forgotten.
Experienced it first hand when I upgraded my A8 D3 with bigger brakes and did my fronts first and my rears a week or so later. As you mentioned, heavy nose dive and early locking of the front wheels. Braking in curves was even more interesting as the nose pulled out as in under steering.

That is kind of what I was getting at. The proportioning valve and all the hydraulic components are designed to work together on a specific car. So when some parts are matched up on another car, odd/bad things may happen. From my experience in the past with another type of car, brake parts can be retrofitted but it is usually a guessing game until someone does all the difficult homework. Not saying this wont work because I dont know, but I sure do like the idea!

Love the pics 90SQ, very nice mod!

Hearing from several members about the simplicity of swapping D3 hardware onto a D2 I decided that's the route I would be taking so I'm currently sourcing parts to swap D3 S8 braking hardware onto my D2 and have found a set of front calipers but I seem to be finding 2 different size rotors available for the rears and am wondering if there are two different size options for the rear calipers?.... But also now that I'm on it, are 385mm the only available front rotor for the D3 S8? I thought I did an exhaustive search... Anybody know?

I'm reading all the cautions about switching all the matching components at the same time, and will definitely heed such advice; I just wanna make sure I get the right stuff in the first place haha
