2000 A8 doors won't open from outside.
Hey all so I just got a 2000 a8 recently and so far I love it. Last night I got a little stumped tho because non of my doors will open from the outside. At about 530-6 I washed my car and drove home. Then like 630 maybe headed over to a buddies driver door opened fine. Was there maybe 20 minutes and when I came back out the door's wouldn't open. So I ended up doing the window roll down trick with the key in the door and was able to open it from the inside. The locks move up and down but the outside handles don't feel like they're doing anything. I live in MN and it's pretty cold but I wiped out the door jams pretty good when I washed it, so idk if the handles are just frozen?
Also might be unrelated but figured I'd throw it out there. When I bought the car the rear doors don't open from the inside or the outside. Doesn't really bother me but figured I'd throw it out there in case they're related issues. I'm not an audi guy so any info is much appreciated!v b

My doors are like that when they are frozen shut. Be careful not to tug too hard on the exterior handles, they are not very sturdy.
Moisture on the seals like re-frozen snowmelt (or maybe washing the car?) is what causes it in my case. You can try lots of silicone spray on the seals to prevent the icing.

My exterior door handles are quite loose - particularly the drivers handle.
I was going to pull the door cards off at some point to attempt to adjust the actuator rods (the ETKA diagram shows that they screw in to the bottom clips at the lock mechanism, so it makes sense there would be adjustment).
Could that help your issue?

Forgot to post this but they ended up being frozen. I pulled it into our shop at work to unthaw it and they opened. Thanks for the tip on the wd40 I'll have to try that and see if i can get the rear doors open.
