The car quit while driving down the road. Sputtered and came to a stop. I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter. I could not blow thought the filter. The car wont start and stay running. It might sometimes idle, but not for long and when it does, its very rough. I had my wife turn the car over while I was in the trunk listening to the fuel pump and I did hear it run when turning over.
I would very much appreciate any ideas where to look for trouble. I am new to Audi and dont really know where to start. Thank you in advance.

Read the codes...without that, no one could tell you where to look for the source of the problem.

Did you have the codes read or check anything else before replacing the pump?

Did you add more gasoline to prime the pump after changing?

Well there is about a 1/2 tank of fuel. Would you suggest that I add to it to prime the pump?

We did not read any of the codes prior to changing the pump. But was told by an A8 specialist that this was 98% the issue. So I went with that advice.
