ABS hydraulic pump

ABS hydraulic pump
I have a 2000 A8L, 4.2ltr. petrol. The ABS hydraulic pump unit failed, so I had it replaced. I then had the car coded to get rid of the fault lights. When you start the car, all the instrument lights go out, but when you get to 2000 RPM, the ABS and the ESP lights come back on, and stay on, until you turn off the engine. same thing re-occurs every time the car is driven. Is there a code that needs to be used to stop this? It was a new unit used, not a second hand one.

The pump is probably the same unit as what you had, but flashed for a different vehicle variant. Could also be a different year and be expecting different vehicle signals than it's seeing. Sounds like you are in Europe? The unit could have been programmed for any number of engines or FWD only as well. You are probably getting a variant mismatch.
I think it can be recoded with vag-com, but I've never done it.

Also scan it with VCDS (not a generic scanner) to see what the ECU thinks is wrong.
Also, 2000rpm - is that when it's being driven, Or does it do that stationary too?
In motion, could be a sensor issue.

Thanks for your reply, No the ABS and ESP lights do not come on if the car is not moving. You can get the car up to 80-90kilometres per hour, so long as you keep it under 2000 RPM, and the lights do not come on.This problem is not speed sensitive, only RPM sensitive
