Default Bilstein Front Struts

Has anybody changed out their factory front struts for Bilstein B6 Series (24066785) struts? Did the Bilsteins change the original ride height or handling?

I'm looking to change out the front struts when both front lower control arms are replaced. I'll also be changing the bump stops (KYB) and strut mounts (Sachs).

Thanks for any input.

Since the bilsteins are high pressure gas shocks, they may affect your ride height, bumping it up a little. Do an alignment at the same time.

I have Bilsteins all round, I think B8s though. The handling is sublime. I changed the springs at the same time so hard to say what they did to the ride height. IIRC the spring platform was in the same place though so it should be about the same.

You used Bilstein B8s on an S8? Those don't even show up an an option.

Hmm maybe they are B6s then? They were lightly used when I got them and I didn't check the part numbers.

Regardless, they handle very well

Thanks for the clarification. Glad to hear you've had, so far, a good experience with them.

Good to know. Thanks for the advice.

Did your ride height change at all?
