Default Brand New Audi guy

First off what's up guys & thanks for any insight for anything I may ask. Only owned my 2001 Audi A8L for about a month now & already liking the car & crowd. Question, I'm getting the codes 17831/17819 Secondary Injection System going off. I've heard this is like a 20-30 minute DIY. Can someone point me in direcion? Thanks.

Well, could be 5 minutes or 5 hours...depending on how long it takes you to find the usual cause: A vacuum leak anywhere in the vacuum circuit on the front & top of the motor. The most common cause is the connection on top/rear of motor on driver's side...see #4 hose in photo.

But ANY little leak on the front can cause it, too...any vacuum hose going to or from the changeover pods or the vacuum reservoirs...ANY little leak up there (even a broken pod..do they both deflate totally at idle?) will show by low vacuum at the valve (in drawing) and generate those and other codes related to the SAI.

If it's not a vacuum line, the search begins again...SAI pump itself, it's supply hose, relay, fuse, etc...
