Default Cam chain tensioner install

I'm replacing my cam chain tensioners. Does anyone have a copy of the procedure for retorquing the cams after removal? 2001 S8 by the way.

Thanks

It is a big job. I've done both sides in separate settings. The drivers' side was most difficult. I had to pull both cams. Passenger side was a bit easier and only had to remove intake cam. Found it worn out and had to replace it due to lobe wear at ~200k miles. Car runs fantastically since both sides were done. Pulls like new!

How much would dealer charge for labor for this?
Does the bentley say how much time it takes?

Bentley does not estimate time.

Call a dealer and ask.

Default One side is 15 links sprocket to sprocket, the other bank is 16

Count em b4 you pull it apart. I forget which side is which. The reason is one tensioner is upside down from the other.

Default D2 AKB 4.2 Cam Position Sensor P1347 - Help!

1/9/17
All-Audi-Home
2000 A8L AKB 4.2 220K miles
Having DTC P1347 post Timing Belt change and Cam Adjuster install on the driver’s side of the 2000 A8L D2. When I did the TB I used a lock in the Speed Sensor hole and made sure I was a TDC on #1. I used the cam lock bar, as always, and got the marks 100% dead on. I set the intake and exhaust at 15 rollers spacing. Engine runs strong and smooth but I get a P1347 error as soon as the engine warms. I replaced the DS cam position sensor (again) and still get the P1347.

Here is summary of VAGCOM findings. I also monitored engine blocks 91, 92, 93 and got some strange results that I cannot decipher. In block 91 and 92 does “:Cam Ctrl. OFF” mean that I should disconnect the cam tensioners, or is that telling me that VAGCOM turned them off? I think my problem lies in the block 93 but I seek your expertise on what it means.

Help appreciated. Tx

you cams are way out of sync... -22 and +9 are 31 CF's off, spec is plus or minus 8 CF's as I recall... Had similar issue on the S8 after I bought it.

quattroworld.com Forums: cam timing fixed, had to degree the cam today.. it was showing -19 in block 93 on bank1
