Evening all. Just towed home a 98 A8 with 150K miles. Needs a lot of work before I can get it on the road.

Right now, it needs (at least) pads and rotors all around, tires, a good cleaning in and out and some sort of exhaust work (sounds like it's post cat.)

I can get parts from napa at a good discount: but would (all of) you suggest going someplace else?

It seems like its been neglected, so I plan to change the engine oil, diffs, and filters. I'm going to farm out the timing chain, I've got no patience for all that.

Any other advice/suggestions are welcome.

First off, welcome!

Sounds like you've got a project on your hands. I'd recommend going with high quality suspension parts (Lemforder & TRW). I don't know what kind of discount you can get at NAPA, but I've found FCP euro and RockAuto have very competitive prices and a large selection of quality parts.

An entire set of Lemfoeder arms were running around $800 on RMEuropean last time I checked.
