Default Fog Light Harness location

Afternoon Folks

I am a new owner of a 02' Audi A8L currently in the process of putting all the maintenance up to speed from the brakes, to engine work, trans work, body work etc. I needed some help to find out the location of the fog light harness and the module where the harness for the fog lights go to. I also notice that the parking sensor harness for the front bumper is also part of the fog light harness (although mines do not have the parking sensor option)

If any of you can help me with photos or a actual explanation on where i can locate that, it would be much appreciated.

First, I assume you know that, unless modified, the fogs will not light unless the headlights are on ... stupid factory setup. Highly recommended to get a Bentley manual, if you're gonna do your own work ... worth every penny and payed back with just one repair.

The foglight relay is on the relay panel, in the large central electric panel under the passengers foot panel (see drawing below...blue circle).

There are a few ways to mod the fogs to run independently ... I rigged a separate switch at the blank spot to the left of the steering wheel.

Here (plus other procedures by other DIYers..above my post) >>>

I forgot to tell a little back story about it so here goes

I got the car two months ago as is with no bumper (but it came with the complete parts that go with the bottom piece of the bumper oem fog light and lower grille) I got the bumper put on the car but I had the assumption that I still had the oem fog light harness for the car still connected and tucked but I guess not.

So my only hunch is to first locate where the plug goes and that way I'll know if it's there or not. (if not then im going to have to find the harness or do a DIY fog light kit for it.

thank you for the DIY idea. Its crazy how they programmed the fogs with the headlights and I too find the setup pointless.

Which Bentley manual should I get? because I too do my own stuff for my car.

Welcome to the club. Be sure to check out the "other" forum too.

I did the solder trick. It took all of 5 minutes...used a solid copper wire that I bent in a J-shape to hit the required 3 posts on the relay. I had originally planned to do the extra switch, but ended up installing a sub bass **** in the blank to left of steering wheel.

There aren't too many mods to do on these cars, but the fog trick is a quick, cheap and easy one.

I got a spare relay, so back to stock takes another 3 minutes, maybe. It just depends how fast you can remove the 4 screws holding on the footwell cover.

There is only ONE Bentley:

Cheapest I've lately (and great guys to deal with) is at PartsGeek >>

bentley d2 manual | Partsgeek.com

Bentley has issues with many operating systems, so now once you buy the DVD and register it, you can access your manual online from any computer ... works great.

Gotcha definitely going to get this for sure. Thanks a million

I believe I figured out where the fog lights plug to.... They're on the edge of the headlight right? No wonder why you thought that I knew... Lmaooooooooooo I DEFINITELY got to change the headlights then.
