Oil, anyone run Rotella T6 in their 4.2?
I have a lot of cars and most of them work well with Rotella T6 5W-40. Just to keep it simple I am thinking of running it in my 40 valve AUX (and probably my ABZ eventually). Any tribologists, or "Bob is the oil guy" experts here? I know it's a 'heavy duty diesel' oil and is not on the 'approved list' for many gasoline cars, but for my Porsches it has proven history and great UOAs. I can't find any mention of it in the 4.2Ls, so I'm curious if anyone has experience good or bad.

I've had 4 Audis with the 4.2 and have run 5w40 T6 in them with absolutely zero problems. I don't push oil change intervals beyond one year or beyond 6,000 miles. I switch between Mobil One 0W40 Euro and Rotella T6 depending on what's on hand when a change is due and what kind of sales and rebates are going on. The T6 is well regarded as a very good oil with a robust add pack and good shear resistance. I use T6 in a bunch of stuff including my commeracial zero turn mower, my tractor, motorcycle, etc.
