Default Passenger Window issue

just last week my front passenger side
window regulator and motor had reached its last leg and it was h*** for me, so i got somebody to get a whole new unit (window regulator and motor) installed for me and it opens and closes, but now i have a minor problem

After the installation i lost all automatic open and close functionality for the passenger front window and if i were to hold the window switch up, it would go up but drops right back down to 1/4 open. I even tried the 10 second rule to hold the window switch up and down and no use. So i want to know what could be the problem?

have you run the window all the way down, then back up again using the switch? I've had to relearn my window express feature this way after loosing battery power.

Yeah man, I'll try to do it again and see if it'll work. Hopefully the rain stops soon so that I can do it. Also it responds to the key turn where it goes down (unlock) and up (lock) but it goes right back down to that 1/4 open position

Sounds like "pinch control", instead of sensing the normal top of travel...exactly what the windows (or sunroof) do when they sense an obstruction ... stop and back off a couple of inches.

Something was done wrong on installation ... not sure what, but blame the installer.

They probably wouldn't have the slightest clue what that is, but what's weird is that when the window gave out that day it did the same exact thing up until that cable wheel broke in pieces. I'm going to definitely investigate this and see.
