Sad day - Considering parting out or selling outright '01 S8
The torque converter has gone out on my '01.
The car is otherwise running well, 145000 miles.
The body is straight, but the paint (Green) clear coat is peeling on the roof and trunk lid. I believe the transmission is otherwise good, and I recently flushed and changed the filter (in hopes of fixing the converter problem).
Is there any interest on this site, for either the whole car or parts?
The car is located in greater Los Angeles (Torrance).

If you still like/love your car, I agree fix the TC and keep driving it. These cars are getting rarer by the day. Expensive upkeep the main reason these great cars are disappearing. You're not going to find another car out there with the power, refinement, prestige and AWD without going to another S8.
A green exterior S8's I believe would also have to be pretty rare in the US. I have a black-on-black and it was 1 of 53 black-on-black imported to the US in 2001.
If you're going to get rid of the S8, try to find somebody who will give it the treatment it deserves.
Good luck with your decision.

O.P. I'd say replace the TC too, but have the trans gone through while you've got it out, would be a shame to repalce the TC and get it all back together only to have the A drum crack or F clutch go out.
Heck, at that point maybe you swap a 6-speed in and call it a day.
