Default Straight pipes on 01 S8

Does anyone on here run straight pipes in place of the catalytic converters? I'm pretty sure my cats are clogged and I'm thinking about just cutting them out and welding in straight pipes. Just wondering if anybody has done this?

Thanks

Very few on here will condone removing the cats. I haven't done it to my Audi but have on other cars. You'll need to have someone tune the ECU in order to avoid check engine light and other issues. Also I'm assuming you live in an area that doesn't check emissions.

I'm in MN so no they don't test emissions. Does anybody offer test pipes for the S8?

Did it on my '98 A8 when they clogged about 4 years ago but i did'nt remove them. I cut them open in place, removed clogged material and welded them up. All the rest of the exhaust is stock except for rear O2 sensors adaptors to keep engine light off.

Sounds awesome!!!

Thanks for the reply. What exactly are the 02 sensor adapters? Also how much louder was it than stock?

Thanks

I figured. My head started to crack, plaster falling from the ceiling, windows shattering. It was really something!
