Valvoline Mercon V ATF
Hi,
I went out this weekend to look for the Valvoline Mercon V. The only local store that carried it, did not have any of the bottles that show its compatability with the BMW engine, as TOZOA8 has shown on his post, so I wanted to check and see if there were different variations of the Valvoline Mercon V, or are they all the same? Also, none of my locals had Lubeguard either. Any online source?
Thanks.
Bill G.

Re: Lubeguard
My NAPA had it, but my NAPA is also the warehouse for the entire Atlanta area. That said, the store is pretty much the same as any of the other stores around here.
Regarding online sales,<ul><li><a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=lubegard&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial">ahem. (3rd hit)</a></li></ul>

Re Valvoline Mercon V
Thanks. I just ordered for the source you identified.
Doing some follow up research on the Mercon V, it seems that Valvoline is not making it anymore. On the Valvoline Website, they show the Durablend they now sell which covers various manu. specs, including Mercon V. Is this compatible with our transmissions, if any one knows?
TIA

I've got 7-9 qts of Audi fluid I don't need
I bought it from a fellow A8 board member and haven't opened the box it came in. I just got my transmission rebuilt and don't plan on changing the fluid for 30-40m miles(about 2 years from now) Given the 3yr shelf life, I don't think it makes sense to hang on to it. Let me know if you're interested- I'll sell it for what I paid + whatever shipping is.
