@S8 you're spot on with the hail worry, driving this car is kind of like driving an uninsured car!

Its surprising to me too that these incredible cars don't carry more value. Probably best for me to hold on to it for a bit longer. The irony is my wife was always happy to swap cars with me (her Lexus) for work reasons before the 6MT swap but now complains about driving it.

Thanks, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Unfortunately the answer to your original question is 'not much'. I'm toying with the idea of selling my '97 Lexus LS and the '02 S8 (120K miles) and getting something a bit newer. The LS is probably worth $4K, and the S8 maybe $8K. LS costs very little in the form of maintenance and rarely needs anything beyond that. The S8, well given the numerous "something's broken" threads we all know how that can go. Mine's been pretty good, other than a fuel pump it's been rock solid.

If your S8 isn't costing you a ton to drive then hold on to it....at least you know the trans. won't die on you.

Hey thanks for that link to your door blade fix, just noticed mine's starting to do that too. That'll be a big help, l won't have to hunt for an expensive part once it falls off haha. Take care

Well, I didn't get much response from the local craigslist ad, but I did just post in the classifieds here, and lowered the price. Kinda hurts to think about the numbers, she's wearing almost $4K worth of new shoes! Really hoping to avoid the big bay site to sell her, she deserves a good home from someone here, to stay in the family.
