Default Windshield Washer - low pressure? leaks?

Anyone have leaks/problems with the windshield, squirt/spray system?

Mine empties after 4/5 uses and can barely squirt 5" up onto the windshield.....

I'm 'going in' this weekend, any help is appreciated.
I'll document what I find and post...

Default Sounds like a loose connection.

You may have a leak next to the washer pump. The pump has 2 outputs. 1 for the windshield, and 1 for the headlights.

Do you notice any large puddles of water under the car immediately after you spray?

Default Mine doesn't have problems, but that sounds like a leak.

maybe a small one that prohibits the full pressure? Are there puddles on the ground after use?

Default The reservoir holds over 2 gallons- if you're only getting 4-5 uses, then.....

the rest is disappearing onto the ground somewhere. A common leak point is at the headlamp washers and the plumbing leading to them. I'd check there first. Also, there should be some indication of wherer it is leaking by the spots on the ground.

Default I had this problem. It was an easy fix

Open the hood. There is a connector that comes loose. It is located under the windshiels on the passenger side. Make someone else sprays the windshield while you inspect where the leak is. You should see the water gushiung a lot of it.

What an incredible response rate!
5 replies in less than 20 minutes...

This Forum Rocks (This should be the default A8 forum, not the D3!! ...from link in header)

Anyway, I haven't done any trouble shooting yet and I'll be too busy until Friday.

I'll report back this weekend...

Thanks to all...

Default There was also an issue with the bottle leaking where the pump attached on some Audi's

I had one of mine replaced for this reason. The leak is very easy to see.
