Search EBay etc. used puck out their. Sold mine $100. BMW uses same puck but Audi cradle harder to get.

Ok. Yea I know I can get a puck all day long but i'm going to search for a cradle first then the puck. I just have to be patient.

It is the portable Bluetooth module that plugs into the cradle in the middle console. You can only get it from the BMW dealer or get a good used one on ebay.

The cradle and puck, even used, end up being on the pricey side, and old tech at that. For a little bit more why not get the kufatec unit (or similar) which fully integrates with the MMI and also allows you to stream music via bluetooth.

Why don't you ask viper to see if the guy with the 08 A8 would like to sell the original unit, do it right, with all these after market with the price is more than a used original ones.

Since it has MOST optical - all you need is to plug it in and the MMI should see it - just like my Analog TV or Q7 Navigation - I didn't even have to use VCDS for any of these components.

I'm sure with your skill, SOME RESEARCH, you can get it done right.

Well I understand your logic but here's the thing, I've read plenty of threads if I retrofitted the OEM unit, I would either have to plug the MOST from the CD Changer or the XM unit and I would like to keep those. I don't know where else I can plug in the MOST in at. Since I want to keep both of those units, that's why I might consider going with the cradle. I'm still deciding on what to do.
