Default 04 A8 Good Buy?

I am new to audi, not new to german vehicles, and I am inquiring on whether or not this is a good purchase? Here is the following:

2004 Audi A8L Quattro...Silver Exterior, All Black Interior.... Fully Loaded with ALL the options for the year of the car.. Too many too list... High Highway miles on the car (218,000)... I drive the car everyday... Audi A8s go up to 300,000+miles as long as you maintain the car regularly....Just inspected 6.13.14...Dealer maintained, former Certified Audi, high HWY miles... I recently have done the following: New Timing Belt, Water Pump, Thermostat, Synthetic Oil Change, Changed all of the rollers that goes to timing belt, Changed Right and Left Front Air Shocks and Brand NEW Navigation Electrical unit as of 6.6.14 with warranty from Audi of W Broad... I have all receipts for work... The car is in Tip Top condition.. I have 20 inch offset ASANTI rims on the car as well.. These 3 piece rims match the car... The inside of the rim is Silver and the Lips are Chrome... The car looks GREAT... Very clean Interior (All Black)... I also have the factory rims as well with great tread left on the tires that will come with the car as well... Not interested in Trades unless its an 03 and up Range Rover in good condition..Clean and Clear Title in hand, Car fax in hand... If you know about these A8s, the things that goes wrong on these have already been fixed (air shocks, timing belt, and navigation electrical unit) i have the receipts...

Obviously anyone can say anything, hypothetically, if this is all true, is this a good purchase? Any and all feed back is appreciated., I am also doing my own research but a forum with people who actually own or have owned the vehicle is better than something you can read.

Yes, great car. I have 227,000 miles on mine. At 216,000 miles I took mine to Bonneville and opened it up on the straightaway. Without ever having an alignment, she still tracked perfect at an indicated 172 mph.

Where in the US is it and how much?

Near me, you can get 100k mile 04s in very nice condition for around $10k with good service histories, not flawless but very nice. My car is nice but not perfect, and I have receipts for everything I've done, and I've done the stuff he's talking about but not air struts yet. I did tb, wp, tensioners, pulleys, tstat, and many other parts when I removed the front bumper to get repainted about 8k ago. I have 134k on mine and I'd ask about 10k and take 8.5k if it were for sale right now. It's burgundy red pearl effect with creme beige leather, so if it were black on black, I'd ask 1k more, silver on black a little less more.

I don't like Asanti and many other aftermarket wheels on these cars, but some do. The fact it comes with 2 sets is a plus, and if you don't like the aftermarket wheels, you can sell for a little money to use to lower overall investment.

This could be a mint car, but I'd definitely not buy sight unseen and I'd want to see it up on a ramp. I'd want to see the transmission service history for sure at that mileage, not that they don't last, but at 218k, it better have had fluid changes or I would budget for a rebuild down the line. I work on everything myself and have worked on tons more exotic stuff than this, BUT I like having a second set of eyes look at a car, especially someone familiar with the exact quirks of that type of vehicle; I would definitely have a dealer inspect and tell them to run VAGCOM on it then inspect it and pick it apart.

80srule, this particular Audi is in Richmond, Va. I appreciate the input and I spoke with the seller and he states that i could take it to a dealer to have it looked at as well. It seems like a great car and I will definitely take your advice! Will update if the car is not sold by the time I can get up there this weekend!
