My brother in law has a 2004 A8 and is looking to upgrade his stereo system so instead of him getting an aftermarket one I was seeing if he would be able to use the system of a newer a8 so he could get a backup camera and Bluetooth capability?

Those can and have both been done. Now, when you say bluetooth, do you mean just phone calls, or streaming music?

OEM backup cam, and hands free Bluetooth are retrofit items using factory parts.

A2DP bluetooth capability is a simple aftermarket module plugin job.

The Bluetooth was more for the ability to play music more than the phone calling function. Thank you both for the information!
