Headed to look at this A8 an older gentleman has for sale( he bought it brand new for 73,500 dollars in 2005). He has it listed for 8500 and it has 125k miles and its in super great condition. What are some things i could look for/questions i could ask before purchasing the car?

+1 on previous responses -
Have someone go with you that has VAG-COM to scan for any issues, or pay for a pre purchase inspection at an Audi dealer so no surprises later.

$73k sticker price may not have all the options exist...
Check the options and see what you want to have, don't buy and retrofit, it will cost you a lot more for an 05 with 125k miles.
