Default MMI/radio help

So the MMI started acting up ( I suspect water in the left side trunk) the was a tiny bit of water on top on the Navi unit
what it does is start up and just "click" and shut down about ever 1 second sometime the radio will come on for a second other wise its just clicking

So I need a bit of help, in my car there is what I think is the reverse sensor module mounted to the Navi unit at the top and next to the wheel well the Amp then under the Navi unit is another "box" (not sure what that is)
What I need help with is diagnosing the problem.
I have removed all the boxes opened the and sprayed down with electrical contact cleaner. it didnt work

I ordered a fiber optic loop. when it comes Im going to hook it up in place of the Navi unit (Im hoping this will fix the problem, order a new Navi box and done)

am I correct or what should I expect?

Thanks

Just wait for the loops and start plugging all suspected components

ok thanks
just so I have a better understanding does start in one place and need to continue a loop?

for example start with some "box" in the dash the go to 6 disk changer then to the AMI then to the Navi then to that other "box" below the Navi

But what I'm thinking now is it starts in the Trunk in that "box" and then goes to the front

Thanks

I doubt the radio is bad, check the wiring, fuses, power wiring.

Did you open it up? So voice control now is not working I assume. Did you check the fuse on the radio?
