18" "Fat Fives" on 2007 S8
I have a line on some 18" "Fat Five" 5-spoke Audi wheels and tires for winter, but need to make sure they will clear the S8 calipers. Anyone have any insight?

Do you mean the D3 five spoke painted ones, or...
the older classic 5 spoke polished ones from the D2 era? If the D3 OE 18s, yes those fit for sure. They are the same as the black 18" spare shipped with the 20's (which mine has--both 20's and the 118" black spare wheel). Plus I have a set I ran as back ups for a while on my W12 with the same 385mm brakes while my 20" wheels were getting refinished.
Not a lot of extra room, but the D3 baseline 5 spoke 18's cleanly clear the larger rotor, and the S8 and W12 were set up for (properly designed) 18's. 19's only needed in theory w/ the carbon ceramic Euro factory option brakes, and then only because of the big fat Brembo caliper and maybe the heat/water shield that is bigger than the rotor, instead of smaller like on a W12 or S8.

MP4 is on the money, if your running steel discs the 18's will fit, if you have ceramics as I do then 19 is definitely the smallest that will fit, even then its snug as.
I was really hoping 18" would go on as I didn't want to run 19" winter rims but had to in the end.
