2003 Audi S8 Rebuilt Motor
Hi All,
I need someone's opinion on a 2003 Audi S8 with 164k miles. We are looking to purchase the vehicle from a private buyer. The seller has receipts for all new upper and lower motor gaskets and for a new transmission. With the new motor work he has also replaced the timing chain and water pump with serpentine belt. The vehicle has been garage kept and has almost no signs of wear and tear. My question is how long would someone expect to get out of the vehicle with more than just the typical upkeep? He is asking 6k for the vehicle.
Thank you,

Should
The car should have more miles left. The new transmission buys another 75 - 100k miles.
The parts for the suspension are cheaper for a D2 compared to a D3. At this mileage and age, lots could need replacement.
Look at overall condition of car, interior, paint, tires, and brakes. If good the car may last another 5 years without a lot of expense.

Update
I will post to the other forum. The car is garage kept and is immaculate. The tires and rims are brand new as the owner changed the rims as soon as he bought the car. Now he put the original rims on with the original tires. All in very good condition.

Rims are OK, but 12 years old tires most certainly are not.
