Default 2004 Audi A8 EPC light comes on once in a while

I have had my 2004 Audi A8 for a little over a month now and the past few days the EPC light (yellow triangle) comes on every once in a while, not every day but sometimes will come on. I will turn off the car and go in the store and the light will be off. Then might stay off for a few days and the smae thing will happen. Any ideas?

Are you sure it isn't the ESP warning light? EPC just lights up large "EPC" letters on my '04. When "EPC" is lit, the electronic power control (Throttle-by-wire) goes into limp home mode. Either half acceleration and top speed of only about 75 MPH or just a constant 1500 RPM.

If it is the Esp "triangle"; Read the sticky at the top of the D3 threads and heed it's advice. You will be able to figure out the defective part that costs less than twenty bucks (In the USA, but we don't know where you reside) that is the likely problem.

Labor to install is a couple of hours if it is your first time replacing.

Mister Bally, sorry, you are correct it is just the warning light. Does not display "EPC". I have a Ross Tech diagnositic tool coming, just not here yet. I have 2 Audi's I am going to try and start fixing these things myself. Thanks for all your help guys.

Once you have that scan post it here. You will need some help with it. At least in the beginning.

I'll say it now; Based on the erratic light indication, with 85% confidence; your brake light switch is the culprit.

OK finally receive my diagnostic tool and ran a complete module scan adn was disappointed by all the codes that came back ugh...... But related to this issue with the Air Bag light here are my results. Any suggestions, I am a novice at this stuff, but willing to learn. Because of the suggestions it could be the Brake Light I am including the ABS and Air bags. Thanks in advance for all the help.
