No way in hell that's $8k. I'd bet you a beer it's a total loss. It's utterly incredible how expensive it is to repair even minor looking damage on these cars.

Every time I touched the car for one item it cost me 1,000+ at an indy. $8K in bodywork maybe. But not all the other stuff that will need to be and may need to be fixed. Wasn't taking him serious anyway.

Pray-Greenwich is your local Audi aluminum repair shop. Get them involved if you want the car totalled out

It doesn't look that bad, but I suspect the damage is far worse than we can guess from the fotos.

I just spoke with Pray. They felt it would be totaled and would be surprised if it was not. If it was not, they would jump in and provide their estimate which would result it in being totaled. Guess I'll start putting out offers for the next car.

Believe me with all the things that are behind that cover is damaged, it will be totaled. Look at my little damage compared to yours and cost to repair was over $25K.

Usually that is just the beginning. Once they take it apart costs start to pile up. I wouldn't be surprised it his one goes up to $30K.

How much they pay for 2007 A8?

True. They can be better with all new bolt on front end. Even free facelift.

Three years ago same thing happened to my 2004. I thought about buying it from insurance and fixing it with used parts. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOLD ME SALVAGE WORTH AT AUCTION OVER $5800!!!! Very valuable as parts car.
ASK INSURANCE COMPANY TO FIND YOU A REPLACEMENT CAR IF THEY DON'T OFFER YOU ENOUGH MONEY IN SETTLEMENT. Good luck
