Default 2008 S8 Rear main seal leak?

I had a couple of drops of oil on my garage floor so when I took the S8 in for service they tracked it down to a very slow leak or a "see" as they call it at the rear of the engine where it meets the transmission. They said this typically indicates the rear main is leaking. Have any of you experienced this?
Below is the email I received from Audi:

"Tom good morning, just wanted to give you a new update on the S8. The service is complete on the vehicle and everything came out great there. As far as the oil leak goes, we did find a “leak” on the vehicle, it is a very slow leak, more like a seep as we call it. We were able to find it by cleaning the entire bottom half of the engine and now, after the time it has been sitting here, the oil has come out of where the engine meets the transmission. On this car, when this happens, that type of leak typically indicates that the rear main seal is leaking. Keep in mind this is not a large leak and it is leaking very slowly. To repair something like this it involves removing the engine and transmission. If this is something you would like an estimate on I can provide you with that but I wanted to let you know what we found and keep you posted."

Don't even ask for the estimate right now. Wait for it to leak out a quart a week. Have a rug or New Pig oil mat in your garage for now.

It leaks so slow right now it's barely a drop over night.
When I asked what could cause this the Service Tech said that the fact the car sat for almost two months could have had an affect on it.
The estimate is approx. $6,400.00 Arghhhhh!!!!

Just curious how often do you change your oil?

There is no clutch to get greasy so just let it leak for now.

Default oil leak

what's the mileage on your engine ?
I bet my money on the oil pressure sensor
tell them to look at the sensor and two o-rings for the filter housing.
either way don't let it leak, that's ridiculous.

From what I know this is common problem on S8 and S6 V10's.....
Mine was done at 74 Kkm

P.S. be prepared for a steering rack as well if it wasn't done yet

It's got about 75,000 miles on it.
The previous history on the car indicated the oil got changed between 5,000 - 7,000 miles. I have it done every 5,000.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?
