Default A8 Factory Options

I am currently looking at two A8Ls and was wondering do all long wheel base models come with sunshades? The 2004 I'm looking at has sunshades but the 2005, from the pictures doesn't look like it does. Just a little confused if it is standard on the long wheel base models.

Yes, sunshades are standard. I think power side window sunshades were part of the convenience package, otherwise manual is the standard.

That is what I am hoping but the 2005 looks like it is lacking the button for the rear window powered shade. I'm guessing it is being obscured by the flash of the camera or worn down due to pressing it so much, but here is the picture.

I've never seen one without the rear sunshade but this one doesn't have a button visible, and it doesn't look obscured or worn off. It would be strange to have some of the nicer options on it like ventilated seats and parking sensors but not the rear sunshade.

That is what was confusing me. Also Jack do you happen to know if 2004 A8s have bi-xenon, and leveling headlights? They should level, because my 2001 740 did, but not corner which I am not concerned about. I am leaning towards the 2004 because it has the options and rims I want. Its so hard to decide.

If you like the 2004 better, and maintenance and price wise they are similar, get the 2004.

They are very similar, I was checking part numbers and even the suspension is the same from 2004-2005. But do you happen to know about the headlights?

They are self leveling in the 2004, although I am unsure if they are the regular or bi xenon.

jbell, are you in the USA? More stripped down versions without the rear sunshade are available in Europe and Asia. Possibly Canada too.

FYI, I might use my rear sunshade maybe 3-4 days a year. It is no big deal.
