So local shop says wheel bearing. Apparently with these sealed bearing you won't get play in the wheel necessarily when up on a jack which is how I looked at it. Learnt something. Put a stethoscope on the back of the hub and spun the wheel on the lift and noise plain as day. Hoping this will fix me up. Change scheduled for Friday and an alignment ck just to verify. Thanks for all the help. Guess I shouldn't have assumed the bearing was not a possible issue after all...
