About to buy 2005 a8 short body tomorrow
Just wanted to know from the experts what should be the first bit of preventative maintenance. It's a Arctic white 4.2L. The timing belt was replaced already along with the radiator and water pump. Car was always maintained at the dealer and only has 78k on it. Everything seems to be fine but I just want to be ahead of the maintenance game if possible.
I'll definitely be making the Ross-tech software my first purchase.
Any other advise is definitely welcome.

Welcome!
If it was regularly maintained at a dealer nothing should be urgent. You will get warning when engine oil and filter should be changed. Same with brake pads. Only warning that will never come is ATF, power steering fluid and differential oil. Audi says it is life time but it is not. You should change them soon. Brake fluid too. You will find all you need about that in this forum.

Two more;
1. MMI gears, if not stripped they will be. Popping, grinding noise on start up. Contact Mishar.
2. Upper Control arm bushings. Get them and then an alignment, they were 20.00 each, four needed at Partsgeek for the Lemforeder.

First Fillup.
Thanks for all your advise, I'm sure i'll be asking more of it in the future.
The car has a slight Valve cover leak that my mechanic said it wasn't urgent to fix at all. Does anyone have a estimate on the repair costs?
Thanks again,
