About to pull the trigger on an 07 A8L
Hello AudiWorld
New to the forum and I have loved the look of the Audi A8L since I was little. Childhood neighbor owned a dealer and always drove the latest and greatest!
Now that I can consider a new to me Audi, I've located a 2007 A8L with only 47K miles. Fairly loaded, new brakes and the seller was asking 24,9K! Through homework, talking with his Audi service department and my likeable attitude I've been able to get him to 21,5K. I've made the offer contingent on a passing buyer’s inspection at the dealer and am really excited about owner a car that I've always admired!
It does need new tires and the passenger side headlamp might have to be replaced. Getting the adaptive warning light and the dealer noted the motor is bad. Other than that the body has no marks and he is replacing the driver's side caps on the wheels. Someone popped them off a few weeks ago!
Now the question, does this seem like a decent deal given the year and miles? Anyone else able to offer buying experience on 07+ a year or two? Don't want to go below 07 as I prefer the timing chain over the belt!
Thanks in advance to any comments!

Lowest miles above average condition 07 to sell at a Manheim dealer's auction recently brought $18,500 And every 10K miles either way is worth about $1000, so your prospective car with 2000 less miles would bring around $20,500 WHOLESALE...which makes the $21,500 retail price you mention a good deal I would say.

Thanks for the response audinut!
I really feel it's a good deal also! KBB even notes "good condition" at 21,8K with 47K on the odometer. It really is in better shape from their definition of good condition.
Any thoughts on the headlamp? I used to do work for an exterior lighting company and understand how automotive lighting works. I wouldn't be afraid to put it in an oven and see if I can get the lens off to be able to replace the motor. But them again, I'd rather have it done the right way!!

I just picked up an 08, black, 115k miles, great service history.
Brakes with flush, and tranny flush recently done. Black exterior with dark brown leather. The inside was kept immaculate, I think it was used as a limo car from what I could gather. Adaptive cruise control/side assist. Was 18990, got it for 14990. Obviously the miles are a lot higher, but it seems like if its been maintained these cars do very well with high miles.
You can find headlamps on ebay for around 450, I guess just factor that in if you want to fix it. There seem to be a lot of used parts on the market, definitely helps with some repairs.

Welcome to the board!
I would trust audinut and wouldn't wait for all smart advises coming. Go for it. You will love it. Forget about headlight. Once you have it you will see what's wrong. For few hundred dollars you can have good used one. You can'd get that motor as a spare part, but you may not need it at all.

With this year model compared to older models, oil change is much easier and it has a timing chain instead of a timing belt. Seems like a good deal to me. Can't be sure from the picture but it looks like standard suspension unless it's currently in lift mode.

If it is sport suspension it is written right there on the suspension screen. It actually has less options. Dynamic and Comfort are the same height just different shock absorbers stiffness. Standard suspension has three heights ~1" apart.
