HOW DID YOU DETERMINE HOW MUCH REFRIGERANT TO ADD? DID YOU FOLLOW THE FACTORY PROCEDURE, WHICH, PER FACTORY SERVICE MANUALS HAS YOU (PROPERLY) EVACUATE THE SYSTEM, PULL A VACUUM AND ADD A PRESCRIBED AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT?

IF YOU DID NOT FOLLOW WHAT IS THE PROPER PROCEDURE, YOU MAY HAVE DAMAGED YOUR COMPRESSOR AND/OR SOME OTHER COMPONENTS. YOUR AIR CONDITIONER(CABIN COOLING SYSTEM) MAY HAVE BEEN FINE. A POSSIBLE PROBLEM IS THAT THE HEATING SYSTEM MAY ALSO BE ACTIVATING IMPROPERLY.

BEFORE I CAN ANSWER ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, YOU NEED TO READ THE FIRST(STICKY) POST IN THE TOP THREAD OF THE D3 AUDI A8 THREAD AND FOLLOW WHAT IT SAYS.

AS AN EXAMPLE, IF YOU DID NOT USE THE FACTORY VAS DIAGNOSTIC TOOL OR THE VAG-COM DIAGNOSTICS AS MENTIONED IN THE STICKY THREAD, YOU MAY AS WELL JUST FLUSH YOUR MONEY DOWN THE TOILET.

Capitalizing can be used for emphasis. Doing the whole thing defeats the purpose, and makes it harder to read.

Now, when you say your air conditioning cuts on and off, do you mean the blower cuts out or the vents blow air of varying coolness? If you have it in auto, it won't always blow cold air, it will only blow what's necessary to maintain temperature.

IF THE ORIGINAL POSTER WOULD READ THE STICKY, HE MIGHT HAVE THEN REALIZED HE HAS A BLOWER MOTOR THAT IS CUTTING IN AND OUT. HE WOULD THEN SEARCH AND FIND AT LEAST TWO THREADS THAT DISCUSS THE PROBLEM.

Default Blower going in an out.

I got a 2008 Audi A8l Quattro W12 with a blower pushing air once I start it then it slows down to a stop. Itll start back up randomly then shut down.
I've gone through all fuses besides under the driver an passenger dash. Anyone any ideas?

The blower motor is a common issue, especially if you have a solar roof. I had to do mine last year on my 09W12. The blower motor would not work randomly with mine.

Sounds like worn brushes in the blower motor. VCDS diagnostics will confirm.

What would the BCD’s confirmation look like? Mine says “open or fault to ground”
