Default Air Suspension Compressor Rebuild Kit Available

Discovered there is a $25 rebuild kit available for our air suspension compressor that would save hundreds versus a new compressor. I found this by poking around the internet and when (not if) the time comes this is the route I pan to go.

Thought others would appreciate the information as I've noticed a lot of air suspension posts recently.

Check out the rebuilt video as well, seems very straight forward. The harder part is likely pulling the compressor out. If anyone could post instructions on how to R&R the air compressor that would be very helpful.

I have one of these at home. I ordered it when I first noticed the car taking time to pump up.

But it was a broken strut.

when I first start my car and am driving it. it makes a sound kind of like birds chirping or something similar. then stops same spot in the drive everytime probably 1/4 mile of driving when I first start it up until it stops. would this rebuild kit be what I need. sound seems to be coming from drivers side.

When I bought my A8 about a year ago it was giving the following message with VCDS:

01772 - Signal from Level Control Pressure Sensor (G291)
008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent

It also took some time to for the car to reach correct height when switching from dynamic to other modes with MMI.
I had then purchased this kit from Bagpipinandy, installed it and the error codes never came back. Changing modes now goes a lot quicker too.

So works great for me so far.

I also had sounds coming from the compressor, sort of clicking noises.
This too was gone after installing this kit.

I'd say it's worth a try for 25 bucks.

google "bagpipingandy". Nothing but positive results.

He explains the research he used in arriving at his product. Interesting videos.

Your kit might work, and thanks for looking out. But Andy's has proven itself. He's on AW, too. Nice guy.
(PS to Andy; PM me for my address to send the free kit)...

If you have the compressor out and opened up, disassemble the electric motor and use JB Weld to reglue or add extra glue to secure the motor magnets all around their edges.

A magnet breaking away from the motor shell is the #1 failure mode of these compressors per the WABCO durability tests performed.
