Default all SW controls and all stalk controls non-op

my friends '05 just had all steering wheel controls and all steering column stalks and the column adjuster **** quit working....what commonality do they all have that would stop all those various functions ? I have never seen such a situation.

Well, start with the fuses. None of the floorboards seem damp, do they?

I wouldnt start a thread before checking fuses. You ask about wet floor....are the control modules for all those switches and controls under the floor ?

There's a lot of electronics on the floorboards. I haven't dealt with those controls specifically, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was there. Sorry to bring up fuses, but it's not uncommon for that to be missed before people ask for help. All those things going at once makes me assume that if it's not a blown fuse that something got wet. Ask your friend if he's heard the sound of water in his vents or water running above his head after being parked out on a rainy day. After that, the inevitable 'do a VCDS scan' suggestion is next up. If there's nothing that happened that's an apparent cause, that's all that's left.
