Another windsheild wiper problem
New to the forum and Audi life. Just got a 04 a8l black 4.2 quattro. Love the car but it has a few issues. The windshield wiper will not work. I have replaced the motor replaced the 40 amp fuse. The headlight sprayers work but the windshield sprayer do not work along with my wipers. The wiper are not bound up and turn freely. Any other ideas or help! Maybe the column switch is bad?

What did the diagnostic scan yield? By whoohoo, Merica; did you mean Wahoo, Nebraska by chance? Coincidentally, I'll be driving through that town in two weeks .

Sorry for the long delay been busy working. So I do not have a diag tool yet. Waiting to order one from rosstech. I live north Dakota FYI. Wipers still don't work -_-. And rainx only goes so far. Is there a relay to check on the d3 'S I've heard there is relay and heard there is not and its controlled by a module anyone point me in the right direction. And the location of either part?

Control module for wiper motor is attached to the wiper motor. The switch on the steering column connects to a module that controls all steering wheel functions including tilt/telescoping motors, cruise control, turn signals and wiper control (wiper motor speed) and also controls either intermittent operation or rain sensor wiper operation if car is equipped with a Bosch rain sensor.
Module appears to be just above the driver's foot position.
Guessing you have a switch issue in the steering column but only a guess as my thinking is if the control module craps out, other stuff also stops working. A diagnostic scan is really your best next step. Then standard automotive electric troubleshooting techniques come in to play. With a wiring diagram, simulate the switch action using a jumper at the control module. Also verify voltage is present at the wiper motor connector. If not, find the broken wire, bad connection or blown fuse.
Not sure where you are in North Dakota but I was there two weeks ago and could have done a diagnostic scan for you if you were along my travel path between Fargo where I flew into and Emerson/Pembina as I had to go to Winnipeg and then back to Fargo.
