Catastrophic engine failure would be my guess. How is the timing belt? Do the cams still move if you turn the crank?

Default It may just be a simple - single incident - bad plug?

Just put another one to see if it happens again.

Boat anchor from the looks. I have seen plugs like that in iron block and head engines. In an aluminum engine that is really bad news.
Pull another plug to check how it looks. Or a proctoscopy to look at the piston on #1.

Default Pull other plugs and do a compression check. More info would help.

Hard to be sure so far and OP provided little contextual information. How many miles? Is coolant present or gone? Did engine overheat? When was last tune up/have plugs ever been changed in recent times? Was motor pinging, knocking or making other unusual noises?

Could be a melt down of motor either directly or due to severe overheating. Could also be neglect in maintenance that might be recoverable. I think I see a Bosch OE type part # on those plugs. If those are from some prior dealer service (over even new...), the plugs could be way past their prime. Visual on the others would help put the age of this one in context absent service info.

First things I would do are look at basic service history, pull all plugs for a visual check, and run a compression check, starting w/ the affected cylinder.

THE MOTOR WAS RUNNING NORMAL AND NO FUNNY NOISES WERE HEARD. I RECENTLY BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 233 000 KM . AND WAS PLANING TO DO MAJOR SERVICE AS I ALWAYS DO TO ANY CAR I BUY.

THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT VW/AUDI GARAGE , AND WORK WILL BE STARTED ON MONDAY. THE MECHANICS ARE ALSO CONFUSED TO WHAT CAUSED THIS PROBLEM. AS THEY DID NOT EXPERIENCE THIS BEFORE.

MORE OR LESS WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DAMAGED IN THE ENGINE.

If I pulled a plug and it looked like that I'd be in caps lock, too!

Good luck, altaf.
