Default audi A8l 2008 MMI not working

my battery recently died, and i couldn't recharge and start the car at all my friend mistakingly put the - cable on the + rod and it sparked, now after the battery changed and all the screen wont turn up at all not manually or by the button

and all the button lights for the radio nav media they all dont work

what can i do to fix this?

Sounds like you lost the big fuse. It's something like 60amps or the like. It's in the trunk by the battery and doesn't look like the regular fuses. It's an effort to protect those systems from just such an occurrence, but it doesn't always. Good luck!

so if i replaced the big fuse the mmi will work again?

It's just my first thought of what to check first. Check all your other fuses while your at it it. Then if you've still not fixed it, get a VCDS scan. It gets very hard to diagnose beyond that without a scan.

+ 1 on check that heavy fuse in back. Body shop did something similar to mine during one repair and all was dead MMI and console wise until replaced.

i checked all fuses on the passenger side and behind the fire extinguisher
and also the back side in the navigation box

turns out 4 fuses were burnt after i replaced them everything was all good

Glad to hear it! It's good they functioned as they were designed to do, and saved you from all but a bit of trouble and a small expense.

It was actually a Euro option/feature. Never seen in U.S.
