Auto Parking Brake Release

How does it work and not work. If you are parked with parking brake on and shifter in Park it doesn't work. You have to release it manually. If you stop and engage parking brake without shifting in Park when you touch gas pedal it works releasing brakes.

The auto brake release feature is standard in all 2013+ U.S. C7s (which included stop/start). Also, in 2013 C7s, default was flagged for the e-brake to automatically engage in park with car turned off but the behavior can be overriden. With the 2014 C7 this "feature" was unflagged as apparently, many 2013 C7 owners were complaining.

Coded this today. Nice add.
I coded this today while coding for a new battery and clearing all the usual power related codes.
Nice add. Have yet to push it hard, but in addition to the obvious relief to foot while sitting in longer stops, it kind of strikes me as poor man's launch control for a pre-launch control era Audi. Maybe more so in a W12 w/ serious torque barely off idle.

Coded this myself too. Def a cool little feature to be of use at times. It's no surprise that if your seatbelt isn't on, it will allow you to engage the park brake, but when you attempt to give it throttle, it's no-go.

Same here. I live in downtown Chicago so spend most of my time sat in traffic or at the lights so this is a useful feature. Until one of the motors fail whilst the brake is on and I'm stuck...haha.
Still not as good as the Merc system though. My W211 E class had an auto hold feature that once you were stopped, you just had to quickly depress the brake pedal and it would hold until you hit the gas. It also had an auto brake feature meaning that at low speeds, when you took your foot off the gas it would automatically stop and hold the car. Nice idea but in practice it was jerky and uncomfortable.
