Default On Board Owner's Manual

I see there is an option to enable the on-board Owner's manual. Do I need to place a special CD in the disk changer to get that to work?

I know this set up is there, but I have never seen an on screen manual available for it in the U.S.

The mmi manual requires a cd to work.
Loaded into cd slot1 in the stacker.

It's quite slow and painful to use, it's quicker to use the actual paper manual.
My cd manual was in the owners handbook wallet / pouch with the car. My mate who has an a8 too, didn't get it with his car. My disc worked for his car thoigh.
(Ps uts his fault that I have an A8 too! Lol)

My 05 A8L W12 came with the OM CD in slot 1, and as doddski stated "It's quite slow and painful to use", to me it was a nice feature for trying to have every option, but it was a waste of a music slot, I will see if I can locate it for the part #, I believe I also stored it on my pc, I will check later.

What's odd is I think MP6.0+4.2 may be correct as always
as I cannot find anything online for the disc.....

Any luck finding this disc? It may be slow and painful but I want it anyway.

I just got mine out of the car, the only resemblance to a part number is
263.562.699.88

Though that doesn't look like a proper part number.
The disc is called
Audi A8 Infotainment/MMI

on board handbook
Hope that helps in some way

I have a link to the on board manual.
Audi Resource - Manuals

http://www.audi-resource.com/docs/AudiA8MMIOnboard.iso

Now all I have to do is figure out how to enable it in the MMI.

For those that need to have the on board manual enabled, go into the hidden green menu. Select "DIAG SETTINGS", then select "APK 0x01, 0x0B, 0x0C" then scroll down to Owner's Manual.

The manual is nothing but a series of html files. There is no reason why you could not change the pages to suit your tastes. The top level menu could say "This automobile was made for ...."
