Default Price to good to be true?

http://www.kgmotors.com/detail.aspx?...ID=13409&.aspx

I've always been a GM guy all my life, as of recently I'm starting to look @ the european cars, particularly because I detail A LOT of them at my studio and am very familiar with their platforms. My wife is about to have our 3rd child in march; at that time our oldest will be @ 3 years, middle @ 18 mos so we will need 3 car seats. I'm looking @ this A8 for the new family wagon, but the price seems just too good to be true. Can anyone shed some light on this? I've also looked at some BMW 7 series and the early 2000' models with comparable mileage are coming in @ $20k, and those aren't even AWD.

What does the S-Line do compared to a stock A8? One of our frequent customers owns an S8, which I know is not the same as an S-line.

Those are badges someone added. There isn't an "S" line A8. They made a sport package but not with those additions. This car looks in rough shape, plus it has customizations that aren't standard. i.e. badges, and those wheels are R8 wheels so I'm guessing the previous owner bought replica wheels and threw them on there. The car also has an aftermarket rear decklid spoiler, and tint. When you look at the picture it shows the TPMS icon on, so when they installed the new wheels I guarantee they didn't put TPMS sensors into them. All of these cheap customizations and fake badging, along with the very worn leather; I'd definitely pass on this car. Only real upgrades it seems to have is the power trunk, and upgraded leather (i.e. leather on center console, door trim). It is also a long wheelbase model without the rear HVAC controls(4-zone climate control). All in all the price doesn't seem that sweet even if it were in good shape. It is at 88k miles and from the condition/mods on the car already I'm guessing they didn't do the timing belt on this car or anything that was in the 75k schedule ($1500-2000). As the 07+ have the FSI engine with a timing chain.

Def pass on this. Has all the little tell tale signs of someone who couldn't really afford to own the car, and probably drove the snot out of it.

I was selling my 2006 A8 L for about $14,000 a few months ago and had no offers, but it's at around 135,000 miles now which could explain the lack of interest. I really don't need the payment but I think I'll keep it. I bought it a few months ago and prior to that it was a one-owner car and I know the previous owner.

Well at least you know what you have and you know the history of it let alone knowing the previous owner.. With this economy screw a payment and you're making the right decision to keep it.

Default YUCK!

I went to see the car-they repainted it with either a roller or rattle can. it's horrid! Plus I couldn't fit three car seats across the back, so SUV for me i guess.
