This is a Very interesting option!

Both Eibach and Bilstein are very good brands and used by different carmanufacturers as oem (From what I have read and heard). Any more thoughts in doing this conversion? How low does it get, any possibility in adjusting?

Default Electronic dampening

I had the shocks on a 2008 Suburban LTZ squeaking. Replaced the front with Bilstein and the rear air with Arnott.
This through the suspension failure light. I measured the resistance of the shocks and inserted a resistor into the lead.
Seems the shocks measured around 15 ohms. Had to use a 24 ohm to prevent failure lights. And the 5 watt resistors burned out in a couple months. Went to 24 ohm 25 watt resistors and never had another light.
This was a Chevy and not an Audi. And the height adjustment was only on the rear.

The GM SUV's use a variant of the WABCO electric air compressor. It is a lower cost unit than what is in the German cars. They are now being remanufactured by WRS (WABCO Reman Solutions) in order to offer customers a lower cost alternative.

I'm a little out of the loop, but my dad has a suburban, (08 120k) and my friend had a Denali. (07 60k) I haven't heard any stories of them failing, I would think they would see more towing thus more abuse.

I did this conversion in December so far so good, put on brand ne DWS as well ad about 17k miles later tires are wearing perfect and ride is good IMO. As far as the light, havnt tried removing them they don't bother me. Sometimes they are both on sometimes only one.

your level sensors would be triggering a light.

I'd be interested in knowing how to knock out that stupid light also.

Will my local mechanic have the tool to do this?

Use LCH to subtract 00064 from channel 001 of module 0x07
Remove 0x34 from GW install list, and unplug/loop out module 0x34.
Edit: Not sure how/if this will affect Distance Regulation (ACC) and RVC if you have them...

For what it's worth, I liked the idea of Bilstein & KYB struts with the awesome Eibach springs. I was gun-shy about Strutmasters themselves, as their rep stunk online in a bunch of forums. Good product, but they act like they don't give a crap once they have your money.

I got my Audi A8 Conversion kit through American Air Suspension. Me & my buddy(ok,mostly my buddy) did the install on a Saturday afternoon/evening. We had a question on the install and called for S & G's....8:30 pm Sat. = no answer. We emailed and received an answer within 10 minutes!....on a Saturday evening! Was super happy with the service and the kit.
