I will do that when I complete installing it in my car. I took one from the picture apart to take Shorty out. It is one inch shorter. You have to imagine for now (couple of hours).

It took me about two hours to install it. Not the easiest job but I really like the result.

LOOKS GOOD ! When I am driving I have my arm on the center arm rest and I like to rest my hand on the wood shift ****. I took note today when I was driving and the lower **** would be a more natural/comfortable height on which to rest.

Is the aluminum stock you found finished about the same luster as the OEM and is it coated like the OEM so that the appearance will not change by tarnishing ?

Will you be selling copies with instructions ? Put me on the list.

I kink of like the stock. Not sure if the shortened look is worth the effort. But one item my wife noticed is the current Start/Stop control with the round silver start button. She hardly drives the Audi, but commented how much nicer the new control looked. That was a two hour job for me. Next time 30 minutes.

Nope, I'm this side of the pond (Chicago to be precise) so a UK one won't do me any good. I'm not sure I want to invest in a whole new wheel with paddles so a mod to the shifter is preferable if it turns out to be an easy wire switch around.

He wants to pull back to up shift and push forward to downshift.
The length of the shifter never bothered me. Looking at the pics, the shorter handle is growing on me.
